Pianists who create music inspired by their cultural surroundings have been around, well, since there were pianos! This was true for Brahms, for Franz Liszt, for Mozart – just about anyone you can think of, and the tradition has continued into the 21st century. Hey y’all – I’m Loki Karuna and on today’s edition of NoteWorthy I’d like to introduce to you one of my favorite contemporary pianists – the one and only Chloe Flower.

Chloe got her start at the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College, later moving on to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London. After being discovered by producer Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, her unique spin on piano performance that’s culturally relevant to hip-hop audiences earned her not only an even bigger platform, but collaborations with Nas, Timbaland, and even Cardi B in 2019! Chloe released this track that same year – it’s called “Get What U Get”.

The career of Chloe Flower is only beginning to bloom, with upcoming album releases and performances around the globe. Her dedication to fusing her skills as a pianist with contemporary hip hop culture has cultivated brand new audiences everywhere she goes, making her among today’s most NoteWorthy musicians.
